About Us
Who We Are

At the Warren T. Casteel Bicycling Safety and Education Foundation (WTCF), we're passionate about increasing safe participation in recreational bicycling by promoting safe cycling and through cycling education initiatives. The WTCF was started with a generous donation from Marty Kent. Marty was an avid cyclist, Plano Bicycle Association (PBA) board member, ride leader, endurance event racer and mentor to many local cyclists.
Before Marty lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in November 2022, he asked that we carry out his request to create a tax-deductible charitable organization named after his good friend Warren Casteel to promote and educate as many people as possible about safe cycling. Warren has been instrumental in Texas cycling for decades having been involved with Bike DFW, the PBA, Plano Parks and Recreation, Bike Friendly Plano, the League of American Bicyclists, cycling public policy issues etc. He was a mentor and friend to Marty and remains so to many other cyclists through the DFW area, which is why Marty named the foundation after Warren. The WTCF strives to carry on Marty and Warren's legacies to build strong relationships with cycling organizations across North Texas. We hope that you will join us in our mission.
